When beginning my first new work in over 7 years, late January 2020, I wanted to think about how I could use the scanner in nature, instead of bringing nature in the studio, as from previous work. My new work happens on the forest floor with a flatbed scanner as my makeshift camera. I think of it like collecting field recordings —
allowing, listening, seeing.

All the work here is in progress and still in the sorting out stage - this is a small selection of 25 shoots over 6 months. Color correction, cleaning, and basic levels are somewhat yet to be determined.
